KIM R. BROWN, CPA, Principal
Kim is a founding member of Brown & Kent, P.C. He has over 35 years experience in providing quality audit, tax, and business advisory services to our clients. After graduation from Michigan State University, he started his public accounting career in Lapeer, Michigan. He is currently president of the firm and serves clients in various industries with tax and business planning and consulting services. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, tax accounting methods, estate planning, auditing and review of financial statements, business valuations, and litigation support services. Kim is actively involved with community and charitable activities and is currently the treasurer of the Lapeer County Community Foundation, chairman of the Marathon Area Fire Authority, and treasurer of the Lapeer County MSU Alumni Club. He is a past board member and president of the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lapeer Kiwanis Club. CLARK D. KENT, CPA, Principal
Clark is a founding member of Brown & Kent, P.C. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of South Carolina. He began his career in Myrtle Beach, SC and returned to Michigan and the Lapeer area in the late 1980s. Clark has been in public accounting for over 25 years and has served clients in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, agriculture, governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, closely-held businesses, estate planning, and real estate accounting and taxation. He is currently a member of Kiwanis-Sunrise. Clark has served on the Board and was the treasurer of the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce. LORRETTA L. DENEWETH, CPA, Senior Manager
Lorretta received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from Northwood University. She has been in public accounting since 1993 and has served clients in a wide variety of industries. Lorretta's experience includes QuickBooks training and consulting, not-for-profit organizations, school districts, manufacturing, retail, construction, and taxation.
